New Design of the new G9 model with (16) coil springs and (32) heat treated steel inserts, makes for, superior tension control. And in most cases should last all season without needing to replace the springs. If you need to loosen up the breakaway pressure you can by removing some or all of the springs, and steel inserts. Each spring you remove will decrease the pressure by about 10 lbs. No special tools are needed! You will not have to ship it all over the country to have it repaired, this will save you time and money. If you have any questions please feel free to call anytime, ask for Frank (the boss) Ph. (562) 696-4020

1. Loosen set screws holding 1/2" bolts. (Lube when re:installing.)
2. Remove 1/2" bolts. From right end housing. (Lube when re:installing.)
3. You may have to drill one or more of the bolt heads off, (no big deal) use a 1/2" drill bit, you only need to drill about 1/4" deep and the head will pop off, then the bolt body will screw out very easy.
4. Remove left end housing first, this end has (2) 3/8"-16 threaded jack bolt holes if you need them.
5. To remove right end housing use a soft mat"l. hammer on axle gear to knox off right end.
6. Remove all parts, clean real good, inspect all parts very good. You need to see when you are looking. (Look for chiped or cracked gears) replace as needed.
7. Wear Plates can be turned over and reused if you think they have excessive wear. (If cracked or broken replace)
8. Re:assemble all parts, start with side first, TORQUE 1/2"-20 bolts on right end (lubed bolts) to 50-55 ft.lbs.
9. Note: make sure you have all the springs you are going to use & the steel inserts 2 per spg., install them after left end has been assembled.
10.Use a good quality high temp grease on all moving parts when ready to assemble. Use grease on the spring ends to hold the steel inserts in place during assembly.
